DASIO: the Dataset of All-Sky Imagery over the Ocean

In this page, we mirror the files index of the DASIO. The dataset is presented in our paper by Mikhail Krinitskiy et al. "On the Generalization Ability of Data-Driven Models in the Problem of Total Cloud Cover Retrieval"

In the paper, we present the study on the generalization ability of data-driven models (such as artificial neural networks) with respect to problems of the etimation of cloud characterisics using all-sky visual imagery made with fish-eye optical cameras.

The dataset is collected in different regions of World Ocean: Indian and Atlantic oceans, Red and Mediterranean sea. We update the dataset on ongoing basis as our oceanic missions continue. Thus, after the paper was published, we added subsets from two more expeditions to DASIO. They are listed already in the table below.
